Classes

I cant believe it the one day i have to get stuff done i get supervision classes. I never get any classes and now because i am trying to get the webquests finished off i get them. Its so typical but cant look a gift horse in the mouth now can I?

Evaluation Rubric

The evaluation rubric is the most headwrecking thing i have ever done. Like a fool i did'nt realise that there was a much simplier way to do it until it was too late. I did it the most complicated and time consuming way possible. I did it in a word document created my own table was so impressed with myself and did it all out. Of course when it came to pasting it could'nt just slip in nicely. After spending hours thinking it up. It then took another 3 hours to copy and paste the bloody thing. I was fit to throw the computer out the door.
It is official i hate ed tech. For the amount of marks going for this the amount of work we have to put in is ridiculous.

St Patrick's Day

I am looking forward to the bank holiday weekend, but Paddy's day has really lost its excitement for me. As a kid you were all excited because it meant you could eat sweets all day until you got sick, as an adult it pretty much the same except you drink alcohol all day until you get sick. As i am not a child anymore and i was'nt made go off sweets and as i do not drink there is very little to do that day. I know alot of people are just like me. There thrill for the day is like mine freezing my ass off while i watch the parade and then trying to squeeze through a packed pub to get a coke or something. I really most try doing something different this year. Just have to see how it goes

Just found out that the magic number is 22, better start blogging some more than. So doing my maths that means i have 3 in old blog and 15 in this one = 18
22 - 18 =4. Can you really put up with listening to me for another 4. I think i'll try and find some pictures and brighten this up a bit. I am very curious though as to whether this will actually be read. If i thought it was'nt it could be alot more interesting. By the way i really hate ed tech. I know that maybe it might be useful in the future when every room has its own powerpoint projector, but right now it just feels like more hassle. In most schools its impossible to get an overhead projector. As for a webquest, oh well maybe they know more than i do about the future of educational technology in schools but i really can't see every student having access to a computer for every class in the next ten years. If i'm wrong i will eat my hat! Is that the saying, i really dont know nor do i care.

Diary

It really is difficult to think of something to write in these blogs. I know we were told to treat it as a diary but thats impossible. I don't think anyone is going to put their personal thoughts on a page that can be viewed by anyone. A diary is personal, this is not. This is simple talking about things that we think its ok that other people read. I remember when i was a teenager i kept a diary for a month or so until my mother found it and read it. As a result she found out that i was smoking. Boy was that a happy day, and how stupid was i writing in the diary about smoking! I really had a lot to learn

Indoor Soccer

I have been doing indoor soccer with some of the students in my school since January at lunch time. The principle kindly suggested that doing extra curricular activities was good for your C.V.. The only problem with doing sport is that the school has no gym, no pitch, no courts nothing. I have been using the primary school hall and it is way too small. Also because we are afraid of breaking windows we are using a foam ball that is impossible to control. Half of the students that signed up are usually in detention at lunch and the other half just want to kick the ankles off each other. I do enjoy doing it with them but i really wish we had better facilities. It really is quite amusing to see 10 students runnung round a hall the size of a large sitting room. Hopefully when the weather improves we will be able to it in the outdoors in the playgound

Maltesers

I have fallen in love again. They are the lighter way to enjoy chocolate what can beat that. they come in a lovely pouch that is easily resealable and they dont go stale. There are so many different ways to eat Maltesers: suck them until all the chocolate is melted, bite the chocolate off leaving the crispy bit or quickly chew getting the whole effect together. Think i'll go to the shop and get some more. They are worse than pringles once you pop you really cant stop

The chewing gum saga continues

Well after getting lots of advice about what to do to get rid of the chewing gum. I decided to go with the simplest. I rolled them up and stuck them in the freezer for a few days. Out of sight out of mind. I think i thought that that would be it. Leave them there and elves would come around at night and solve my problem. No way. I checked them the next day no change. I scraped it with a knife no good. So i returned them to the freezer clearly they needed more time. On Saturday i finally gave in and accepted if they were ever to be restored to their former glory i would have to invest in some ice cubes and elbow grease and so the operation began. After 45 mins i could at least see that it was working. However i still cant figure out how the gum got down as far as my knees. The bad news is leaving them in a freezer does not work the good news is ice cubes do and so tomorrow after alot of work i will be wearing them again. If i wasnt a student i would have dumped them and gone shopping.

Believe me chewing gum looks a lot different when its stuck to your jeans and trying to scrap it off

Chewing Gum

Because i neglected the blog over last semester i am trying to make up for it now, so you get to listen to me go on about absolutely nothing in particular. Though this is beneficial to those of you that have lectures in the Kirwan theatre. Like a good student i went to my English lecture alas but like a not so good student i sat at the back of the lecture. Half way through i decided to move in a seat. Only to find that i was stuck to the seat. Chewing Gum. Yes some inconsiderate immature fool left a lovely lump of minty smelling chewing gum on the seat and my jeans were destroyed. Im sure the lecturer had'nt a clue what was going on as my friend tried to exam my ass to see the damage done by the gum. For such a small piece it really knows how to travel. Of course we were both in stitches. It is still kinda funny now but maybe not so funny when i try and remove it. So beware on the right hand side of the Kirwan theatre on the outside seat lies a not so big lump of gum (the rest is on my jeans)

Doom and Gloom

Im used to being pissed of in Jan. Your supposed to be because Christmas is over, your broke, the presents you got were crap or didnt fit and the long dark evenings. But its February and its still all doom and gloom maybe its the course because i do like teaching I just dont like all the itty bitty things we have to do. i.e powerpoint presentations. Although having my black background might not be helping though i do like the colour. Maybe its time to give in and go back on the anti depressants though for a student they are pretty expensive! Ah well maybe i just need some more fresh air! Or possible to try sticking my head in the washing machine

Motivation

I hate that i cant manage to motivate myself to do any of my projects. I know that when the due date arrives i will be pulling my hair out and giving out that i didnt start sooner. The thing is i am just about keeping my head above water with lesson plans and school. Seriously though gotta get more motivated. I will really, ah maybe tommorrow

Results

Yippee, At last they were posted and thankfully i passed Education and society,pure fluke. Making us wait till after 5 was very very very mean

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentines day. You do realise its just a money racket though i wont mind a few chocolates!!!

Exam results

I'm so fed up waiting for these exam results. It was really nice of Elaine Keane to annonce in her lecture that some students failed what a way to get the nerves going. The excuses are just never ending in this course. It is a joke at this stage. The only thing not funny about this is getting a loan for 5000 euros to be treated like a muppet and a child. Have they forgotten that they are not in a classroom but are in fact dealing with adults? There are so many things i could say right now but i am going to bite my tongue.

Hi all, back in lectures again so love it when the blocks are gone out teaching. Its back to the boring life for me of school, lunch, lectures, dinner and lesson plans. I really better be careful or the excitement of it all is going to kill me. Cant even think of a joke for you all. I suppose the hype around Valentines is a laugh especially for a singleton non romantic like me.

The sea is the closest one can get to sticking their head in a washing machine? Nothing beats getting into the sea for the first time in the year. Your absolutely freezing and it takes a while to warm up but once you do it is amazing, you forget about the cold and even the jelly fish. What was it this year with all those jelly fish i had some close calls and seriously freaked out on a few occasions. I never swam as fast as when i was getting away from them tentacles. Dont worry no body had to pee on me thankfully

Washing Machines

Do you ever wish that you could stick your head in a washing machine and clear away all the problems? Why is it that clothes get to be spun around and all the dirt and smoke of the day is washed away. What about your head? A shower washes your hair and thats it, sure you feel a bit refreshed but nothing compared to the feeling you would get if you could unscrew your head leave your body sitting at the table and stick it in the washing machine. The release would be amazing, just to clear your head of lesson plans, roll calls, and project. I should be feeling relaxed as we havent had lectures but everything just seems to be going wrong.
I suppose I'll just have to stick with the shower!

Dogs

Just to explain the name, toby is my dogs name i know its not really a dog name but it really suits him. He is also as cute as this little guy ere and i knew i won't forget the name not like the last one

Oops

It has taken me two weeks to figure out that i couldnt reenter my old blog and to start another so now i feel really great cos i got this one started. Computers and i are complete enemies. They win one round and i win another and it goes on and on like so.
Then on Monday i hit a parked car! OOps! Thankfully owner was there and we agreed that there was no damage. Such a relief.
Then i managed to reverse into a gate definitely a day that i should have stayed in bed! Any way i will be talking to you very soon...
